Most of us get emails from different airline companies and most of us don't actually read it if the subject does not contain something like "80% off flights" or any other crazy deal like that. Last March, it's a good thing Tsina read an email she got from Delta Airlines regarding a promo involving Los Angeles Laker (and half Filipino) Jordan Clarkson. I had no idea she had entered both our names and emails in the contest. When she told me about it later that day, I just said that was fine and sort of forgot about it.

To give you an idea about the said contest, if you get picked, not only will you get to meet Jordan at the Stampd LA Store, you will also get a chance to be picked to create an outfit for Jordan and Chris Stamp to judge. On top of it all, if you get the "winning look", you will be featured online on Hypebeast.com and win two round trip tickets to fly Delta Air Lines anywhere within the continental United States.
After a couple of weeks, when I actually had forgotten about the contest, I was surprised to get an email saying I had won a contest. I was about to delete the email thinking it was some sort of scam, good thing I got curious and opened it. Upon opening it, I was actually not 100 percent sure that we should go, I mean, it was going to be on a Monday of all days, and driving to Downtown Los Angeles is a chore that I am only willing to do on weekends when the traffic is kinda bearable. And honestly I am more of a Bulls fan than a Laker fan, but since I am a Filipino, and Jordan is half-Filipino, and you know the "Pinoy Pride" thing, I eventually decided that we should go.
Fast forward to the day itself, April 3 2017, we drove all the way to Downtown LA, and yes, traffic was bad. We actually arrived about 20 minutes early, so I was surprised that there was already a line outside Stampd. Upon entering the venue, I saw that there was an open bar, a photo booth, they were also serving food and lastly I saw the stage where they will be doing the interview. While the people lined up for the free drinks I decided that we should go and stand as near to the stage as possible, which we accomplished , we were literally in front of the stage.

Eventually, Jordan and Chris came out for the interview that was conducted by Lakers Sportsnet host Mike Trudell, and we had the best spot in the house. We were able to take not only selfies with them in the background, we were actually able to get a picture with Jordan Clarkson after the interview. After taking a couple of pictures with Jordan, we now took advantage of the free booze and food and also made use of the photo booth.

Unfortunately, we were not among the three people picked to style the three models for a chance to win the airline tickets. But still it was a nice experience, it's not everyday that you get to meet an NBA player, and not to mention the free food and booze. So the next time you get an email from an airline company, it won't hurt to open it, you might not get free flights, but experiences like this don't come along everyday.
